Nermin Karim | Staff Lawyer
Nermin Karim is a staff lawyer at BCPIAC, and a mother of four. She feels blessed to have grown up in the multicultural, immigrant-rich neighbourhood of Flemingdon Park in Toronto and has been enjoying the natural beauty of her Vancouver home for the past 20 years.
Her first career was Optometry which lead her to international development work and ultimately to a law degree with the hopes of effecting systemic change. Nermin is trained as a Restorative Justice Practitioner giving her strengths in the areas of collaboration and conflict resolution.
She brings the experience she has gained in Poverty Law from her work in the Downtown Eastside and her experience in Family Law, especially with women leaving abusive relationships.When she’s not working, she is likely with family, marvelling at our ocean and walking the seawall.
