BCPIAC Mission Statement
The British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre is a non-profit society that advances the interests of groups that are generally unrepresented or underrepresented in issues of major public concern.
BCPIAC Statement of Goals
- To Advocate
- the interests of residential consumers, and in particular low-income groups, in the regulation and deregulation of services,
- the interests of disadvantaged groups in obtaining access to justice and equality before the law, and
- unmet advocacy needs in both established and emerging areas,
- By
- advancing these interests before courts and administrative tribunals, and using other strategies where these are more likely to be effective,
- coordinating with other service providers to ensure the most effective allocation of resources, and
- continuing to develop as a community resource providing legal services including advocacy, analysis, public education and information.
